We are all children…

Like a caterpillar into a butterfly, sometimes life’s twists and turns can be transforming. When Evett was 10 years old, her mother died, leaving her aunt to raise her. During racially and economically charged times, Evett learned how much motherly love could be given to a child, even from someone who wasn’t her biological mother. As the first generation in her family to graduate from high school, Evett defied the odds, graduated from college and went on to law school, with many accolades to come, including being President of the National Bar Association.

From her teenage years, creative writing was a way to process insecurities, weight, anger, and pain. Concerned for girls experiencing those same challenges today plus a desire to minister to youth, Evett was inspired to write a series of children’s books. When speaking to children’s groups, she often brings her mascot, “Professor Bunnie Wise”, a spiritual bunny that helps educate children with the objective of finding their inner peace and becoming healthy, happy, considerate, and productive adults.
